AB  - Plant cell functions have been investigated in various cell culture systems. In this review, we summarize results obtained from investigations of gene expression during the cell cycle in synchronized cultures of Catharanthus roseus during somatic embryogenesis in suspension cultures of Daucus carota, during organogenesis in tissue cultures of Arabidopsis thaliana and during the transdifferentiation of isolated mesophyll cells to tracheary elements in single-cell cultures of Zinnia elegans.
